Never Alone
I have people reach out to me from time to time through this
page. We talk about things happening in their jurisdiction, which I always
start by telling them, I am not a member of your jurisdiction, or lodge and any
opinion is not in any way shape or form given with the intent of interfering
with any business transpiring. They will sometimes laugh at me for the “legal”
disclaimer. But there is a Landmark and some things I just don’t play with.
Sometimes Brothers will reach out to share some things that
are on their minds and get a bit of clarity. Over the last four years or so
this is normally the messages I get. Just looking for someone outside of their
jurisdiction and not connected to the issue in any way to listen. Not solving
anything but just being an ear. I am always happy to do this. I have found that
most issues can quickly be resolved if we all stop and take the time to listen
to understand and not listen to hear only.
There have been times I have reached out to some folks that
read this page that over time I have a connection with. Sometimes things just
feel stupid, dumb, or maybe clouded and I just feel like I missed the mark.
Therapist sometimes need Therapists, Pastors need Pastors. Masters need
Masters….and Brothers need Brothers.
Last year in my Grand Eastern Star meetings our Worth Grand
Matron would always end her address with something like this “It does not
matter what you do, or where you go. God is always with you and watching.” Now
she was not saying this to say that the GAOTU is standing over you with a
leather strap like a hacked off parent ready to scold. I know it sure feels
that way sometimes.
I know I often use the Christian VSL and I am again. Why? It
was the first thing that came to mind when I thought about the “All Seeing
Eye”. Yes, we are watched, but yes we are assisted and are never alone.
“Are not five sparrows sold for two pennies? Yet not one of
them is forgotten by God. Indeed, the very hairs of your head are all numbered.
Don’t be afraid; you are worth more than many sparrows!” – Luke 12:6-7
This reference in my opinion is not saying we are greater
than the sparrows. To say that would put one part of creation over another. I
believe that the GAOTU sees and treats all of the whole of Creation equally.
Sometimes in divine wisdom Brothers are put in our path not
only to listen to us when we are troubled. But, to make us think about where we
stand. Even pick us up when we fall…and we sure will and do. But, no matter
what. We are not alone.
I love you and may we govern ourselves accordingly
