Oklahoma Indian Degree Team
Today I was given a number of honors. The first and foremost
was that I was able to witness a Brother from my Lodge raised to a Master Mason
by the Oklahoma Indian Degree Team. They
announced that in 20 years of doing this work, my Brother was number 1138
Master Masons they have raised.
Any degree work is about the Brother receiving that degree.
It is THEIR day and no one else's. Any
degree is sacred, and the Master Mason degree is the most sacred of them all.
For reasons I will not go into. To this
Brother I have a few things to say.
First and foremost, this is not a sprint. It is a marathon. Take your
time. This should be evident when you were asked what you thought, and you said,
“I am still processing”. Of course, you
are…You do not fully understand what you just went through. BTW, it is important. Each degree is
important. Each building is on the other. This is why I feel we need to take
time to really understand the degrees and what you have just obligated yourself
to.
I was also given the honor of being the Chaplain for my Bothers
degree and the event today. An office I really love. Thank you all for the
honor of being there for a Brother, and invoking Deity to honor him too
I love you, and may we govern ourselves accordingly.
